RuggON Viking 2 is a 7" Android Vehicle Mounted Computer (VMC). VMC is widely used in Transportation (Public Bus, Train, Sanitation Truck, etc), Logistic (Van, Port tractor, Reach Stacker, RTG Crane, Heavy Duty Equipment, Warehouse Forklift, Mining Truck, etc) and Emergency Services (Police Car, Ambulance Vehicle, Fire Truck, etc).
The RuggON VIKING II is an affordable rugged 7" mobile data terminal engineered for demanding in-vehicle and field applications. Designed to excel in extreme conditions, it features an IP65-rated enclosure (except bottom I/O panel) and MIL-STD-810H certification for shock, vibration, and wide-temperature operation (-30°C to +60°C), making it ideal for fleet management, public transportation, and industrial use.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6490 Octa-Core processor (2.7GHz) with 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS storage, the VIKING II runs Android 14 with Google Mobile Services (GMS) certification, ensuring seamless app compatibility and security. The 7" WSVGA capacitive touchscreen (500 nits) offers auto-dimming for optimal visibility in sunlight or low-light environments.
For uninterrupted connectivity, the VIKING II supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, multi-constellation GNSS (GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou) with optional dead-reckoning and RTK precision, and optional 4G/5G LTE . Its robust I/O suite includes RS-232/422/485, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.1 Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode), CAN bus (optional SAE J1939 support), optional CVBS video input and Iridium Satellite Communications
support with the optional SATCOM antenna port.
Built for smart power management, the device accepts 9–36V DC vehicle input with ISO7637-2 surge protection, ignition sensing, and an internal backup battery to prevent data loss during power interruptions.
