The New Panasonic Toughbook 56
The New Panasonic Toughbook 56 (FZ-56) is the replacement model for the popular modular Toughbook 55. Continuing the modularity of Toughbook 55 (FZ-55), the Toughbook 56 allows more flexibility to users by allowing users to replace the RAM, the SSD Drive, the battery and keyboard themselves. The Toughbook 56 also kept the modular expansion slots design: Right, Left and Rear expansion slots from the Toughbook 55. In fact, some of the Toughbook 55 expansion modules are compatible to use with the new Toughbook 56, allowing smooth transition from the 55 to 56 model and protecting investments made to Toughbook 55. Some accessories from the Toughbook 55 will also be compatible with the Toughbook 56 such as the AC adapter, Battery, Vehicle Charger, etc.
The Toughbook 56 Australian model will come with a Rear Expansion Module providing: Serial, VGA and additional USB 3.0 Type-A ports. Users can replace this with other optional Rear Expansion Module if needed.
Equipped with a powerful Intel Series 2 CPU that makes AI tasks a breeze, the Toughbook 56 is also the first rugged PC with a 8GB dGPU option that can help further boost graphics and AI tasks.
The Toughbook 56 is also the first rugged PC with a FIPS encrypted SSD option as well as the first with a 16:10 aspect ratio is designed for mission-critical workers by fitting more rows of data without the need for scrolling. The Toughbook 56 also feature faster DDR5 memory, louder speakers, up to 24 hours of battery life (MobileMark 30), faster seamless 5G modem option and Dedicated GPS.
